Summer Camp and Troop Committee Meeting

Posted by bdwyer on Jun 5 2022 - 11:22pm

This week while scouts meet, troop leadership is asking a parent for each scout attending scout camp to please attend. We have significant logistical concerns to work out. Transporting 24 scouts and their gear as well as four adults and their gear on a two hour drive will present challenges. We can work these out at this meeting. Also, please discuss with your scout if he would like to bring his bike. Knowing the number of bikes making the trip will be important to planning as well. Please note, Camp Rodney discourages first year Brownsea participants from using bikes. For scouts, summer camp attendees are encouraged to attend because we will be discussing evening troop activities as well as completing any final prerequisites. We are still in Class B for the meeting.

Memorial Day Service Project

Posted by bdwyer on May 23 2022 - 11:11pm

In lieu of our meeting this week, we will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens off of Route 15. There we will place over 1500 flags in recognition of those who have served in the military over the years. There are large portions of this cemetery dedicated to veterans. Scouts should be in class A uniform with their neckerchief. We will meet at 6pm on this day to get the placement done during the light. Scouts should bring a headlamp just in case. Also, bring a screw driver to make a hole to place the flag. Please donate any time you can on this day. All time is considered service hours.
